Remington CSR: A Takedown Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle Reviewed

November 7, 2026

RECOIL reviews the Remington Concealable Sniper Rifle, a 7.62 NATO bolt gun built to break down quickly and hold zero afterward.

Key points

  • Takedown: It can be partly or fully disassembled in under 60 seconds using one rifle-specific torque wrench, with the barrel nut set to 20 ft-lb.
  • Barrel: The 4140 steel barrel is melonite treated. Offered at 14 inches (1:7 twist) or 16 inches (1:10 twist).
  • Build: Titanium action and bolt body, a billet aluminum chassis, a folding stock and two 10-round magazines.
  • Accuracy: The production rifle shot 0.723 MOA at 100 yards. After removing and reinstalling the barrel, the testers saw a 0.418 MOA shift.
  • Flaw: The handguard takedown lever can open accidentally, and the testers used tape around the base to stop it.

Quick take

The editors call it a favorite and say the price is high but justified. They note that it is no longer sold under the Remington name.
